Challenge 59
Jan. 6th, 2010 07:01 amThis is inspired by the idea behind
sgaconstruction with prompts generated at Serendipity (all slightly modified).
Below are several brief descriptions of rooms. Pick one (or more) and create a story (either with words or images). What happens in that space? Who lives there? Perhaps you'd like to describe the room more fully, especially as it relates to the inhabitants and the story. Imagine the room(s) in a scene and tell us about it.
The deadline: March 3
Any fandom, any genre; real and fictional person pairings; slash, gen or het; fics, graphics, or videos. The goal is to inspire creation of any stripe and color. And most importantly, have fun.
If this interests or intrigues you, if you think you'd like to play around with the theme, or if you already have an idea that's just itching to be realized, please comment to this post to express your interest. This doesn't commit you to creating something based on this challenge; it just gives us an idea about what things the community members find most compelling.

- It's an echoing room, but quite bright. The walls are wallpapered in bright yellow, broken up by thin, pale pink curtains on the windows. A crocheted afghan lies in a puddle of colors in a corner.
- It's a simple room, with walls painted in a dull beige and a floor that's cold and hard. It is dingy, though rather ample, with sparse furnishings covered in plastic.
- The floor in this room is a patchwork of small rugs. The walls are an ugly orange with a border of deep amethyst along the middle. Strong cologne lingers here, until the mild wind from the open window dissipates it.
- The window curtains, drapelike and aqua, blow in the soft breeze. The floor is cold and hard, the walls and floor eerily splashed with dark stains.
- The walls in this cavernous room are papered with a creamy offwhite. Pea green curtains hang on the windows, and though open the room is musty, the air thick. Clinging dust hangs in the sunlight.
